RSA Certificate Victoria
RSA training is mandatory for licensees and staff selling, offering or serving liquor under general, on-premises, late night and packaged liquor licences in Victoria.
This face-to-face course applies to staff working in Victorian hospitality, tourism, events venues, packaged liquor outlets, wineries, breweries and distilleries. It covers recognising and professionally managing intoxicated customers and underage persons, creating safe and social venue atmospheres, and understanding liquor licensing responsibilities.
Course Structure
- The course includes an LCV-approved RSA course delivered face to face, taking approximately 6 hours to complete.
- After successful RSA course completion, learners complete the Liquor Control Victoria online module: Sexual Harassment and Assault: Recognise, Prevent and Respond.
- The LCV online module takes approximately 60 minutes and must be completed before downloading the RSA Certificate of Completion from the LCV Learning Hub.
Assessments
- Assessment 1: Online quiz to be completed within 7 days of the face-to-face session. A 100% pass mark is required, with two attempts provided.
- Assessment 2: Three in-class role-play scenarios covering drug-affected, emotional distress and no-food situations.
- Practical assessment grading may take up to 7 days from the session date.
Important Notes
- Learners must be 16 years of age or older at course commencement. The LCV RSA certificate cannot be used until the learner is 18 years old.
- The LCV RSA certificate is valid for three years. A free online RSA refresher must be completed every 3 years before expiry.
- The enrolment form must be completed before both certificates can be issued.
