Learn to construct your own leadlight stained glass panel in this practical, hands-on beginner course in Sydney. Guided by an experienced tutor, you will practise essential techniques including glass cutting, leading, soldering, cementing and polishing.

The course combines demonstrations with hands-on practice so you can develop the skills to design and build your own panel. Panels are limited to a maximum size of 450mm x 450mm due to space constraints, and some homework may be required depending on your project.

This course focuses on traditional leadlight panel construction. It does not cover copper foil techniques, glass painting, kiln-fired glass, repairs or restoration.

Course Content

  • Weeks 1 to 2: Learn core techniques and build a small practice panel using glass and lead provided.
  • Weeks 3 to 8: Develop your design, draw it full-size, cut and build your panel, then cement and polish it.
  • Students must attend the first sessions, as these establish the key skills needed throughout the course.
