Costumes on a Shoestring
Ever wanted to create the costume of your wildest dreams, on a shoestring budget?
Join Emma Che Raethke and Sarah Whitehead (aka The Seamstresses) for a hands-on workshop exploring bold costume ideas and fabulously quirky outfits made from recycled clothing and found materials.
Bring along pre-loved garments (or source from our collection) and transform them using simple techniques: cutting, layering, pinning, stitching, and/ or safety pins, and embellishing. We’ll guide you through creative ways to reimagine fabric and form, turning everyday pieces into something theatrical, expressive, and entirely your own.
No sewing experience necessary. Sewing machines are available for those wanting more permanent alterations
Come ready to experiment, deconstruct, and create something wonderfully unique.
