Going Taller is an intensive master workshop designed for potters who want to confidently create larger-scale forms on the wheel.
Whether you’ve been struggling to gain height or you’re ready to refine your technique, this hands-on workshop will give you the practical skills and confidence to throw taller forms with greater consistency, control and efficiency.
During this workshop, you'll explore:
- Preparing clay for larger forms
- Efficient centering techniques for increased volume
- Pulling taller walls with greater confidence and control
- Managing wall thickness and maintaining evenness
- Maintaining stability and preventing collapse
- Shaping and refinement tall cylinders and vessel forms
- Practical tips for troubleshooting common challenges
Workshop details:
Duration: 4 hours
Experience: Intermediate to Advanced – Perfect for intermediate and advanced potters who already have a solid understanding of wheel throwing and are ready to challenge themselves by working at a larger scale.
Bring: An apron and towel
Wear: Comfortable clothing that can get dirty. Closed shoes are essential
Cost: $250 per person
Firing: Firing is not included as part of the workshop but can be arranged with Sarah on the day.
Some of the most meaningful progress happens when there’s time to slow down, explore and create with intention.

Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A refund can be requested 14 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$20.00 applies.
- A transfer can be requested 7 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
- A credit note can be requested 7 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$20.00 applies.
No changes will be allowed after these times.

Terms & Conditions
If you are unable to attend, you can request:
- to transfer your booking to another class of the same value, free of charge; or
- a refund or credit note, less 5% admin/booking fee.
Alternatively, tickets can be transferred to another participant – please advise the name of the substitute person within 48 hours of the workshop.
