This internationally recognised WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is a benchmark qualification for wine education, designed to build strong all-round product knowledge for industry professionals and passionate wine consumers.

The course focuses on key grape varieties, major wine-producing regions of the world, wine styles, label terminology, food and wine pairing, and an introduction to spirits and liqueurs.

Programme Outline

  • How wine is made and the factors that influence wine style.
  • Key white and black grape varieties and major wine-producing regions.
  • Sparkling, sweet and fortified wines, spirits and liqueurs, label terminology, and food and wine pairing.

Course Format & Assessment

  • Runs over 16 hours of class sessions plus a one-hour exam.
  • Assessment is a closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions.
  • Unsuccessful students may resit the exam later for an additional fee of $120.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Participants must be of legal drinking age to take part in alcohol tasting, although this is not a barrier to completing the qualification.

Certification

Successful students receive a digital certificate and a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines lapel pin.
